For a number of years turkeys provided meat for the dinner table - not only for Thanksgiving but throughout the year. One of the fall activities on High Meadows Farm was the preparing of turkeys for the freezer. This usually took place a few weeks prior to Thanksgiving. Usually between two to eight turkeys a year were harvested.
