Fallen Tree in Upper Hayfield

Every winter the heavy snow and high winds take down trees at the edges of the hay fields and pastures. So in spring (or summer) it is an annual chore to clear the edges of the fields. 2026 was no exception. There are four trees to clear. Here are photos of one tree that was cleared in the upper hayfield in July 2026.

This tree has actually been laying here for a couple of years. I was working overseas the past two years and couldn't get to it. Then had a total knee replacement in March. Now that I am "operational" I can get the field work done.

The tractor bucket extenders (see yellow tips) come in handy. Making it easy to cut the log up into pieces.

This is getting placed at the edge of the potato field adjacent to the upper hay field. Will get to this later. I have a "project" in mind for this part of the tree.

I added a "bench" to the edge of the upper hayfield. Now that I am a little older it is nice to have a place to admire the view (and rest).

Got some firewood out of it as well. This is for the outdoor firepit next to the Farmhouse.

Now the hay field is back to where it should be. Well, except for the other trees that still have to be removed.
